The ultimate and real reason for the Whale Rally (for Ulysses Garden Route) is the donation of the profits from the rally to public charities. Unfortunately, most of you never see this happening. To experience something like this makes it all worthwhile - it's not possible to explain the feeling and emotion involved in doing this. To see the gratitude and know that the gratitude is genuine, is just AWESOME.

Our guidelines are simple, charities need to be within our chapter's boundaries, charities need to be registered NGO's, charities should not be receiving government funding and finally our preferance is to provide goods needed as opposed to giving hard cash.

We feel that you should know who they are and what they do, as all you wonderful bikers who were at the rally over the years have a stake in this.

The ACVV's main aim is to create a home environment where caregiving of high quality can be enjoyed, in a safe & affordable way, with the residents' welfare as highest priority.

These two homes take in elderly from all races, who are weakened & need caregiving. There are 80 residents who receive 24 hour caregiving, which include meals, daily washing of bedding & clothing.  The Governing body consists out of 9 volunteers who are involved with the functioning of the homes and the extra fundraising to supplement the subsidy shortfall.
